Matungulu women trained on successful marriages

Women in Matungulu constituency, Machakos county, are training newly married women on how to have successful marriages.

The initiative dubbed “Ndawa ya Musyi” was rolled out last month under an umbrella program called “Wasya wa Mwaitu”. This initiative was started by the area MCA madam Magdalene Ndawa.

In an interview with Kenya Moja News, Madam Ndawa said the program brings together young and old women who form groups of at least ten members. She said the idea is to end the rising number of divorces in many young families. “We have realized that in the current generation many young women are unable to maintain their marriages and this is a sharp contrast to the marriages of our mothers and grandmothers”. Madam Ndawa said.

She said the group will also fight alcoholism and drug abuse.
