MACHAKOS LEADERS TURN FUNERAL INTO UTTERING INSULTS AT DR MUTUA

Led by Machakos senator Hon Johnston Muthama and the County Deputy Governer Hon Bernard Kiala, leaders and citizens of machakos trickled to the Ndetis house to give them a final send off.

Peter Ndeti 105 years died on Thursday at Karen Hospital where he was admitted for more than a month.
Ndeti is a renowned founder of Mavoko town council and the town's first councilor.Ndeti was Mavoko councilor for 30 years.

With all this legacy, one expected Peter Ndeti to receive a statesman sendoff, unfortunately leaders one by one stood just to utter insults at the Machakos county Governer.Infact one could think that it was a funeral for the hardworking governer.

Residents who spoke to kenyamoja after the funeral condemned the act and requested Hon mutua as he has always done not to mind the insults and focus on delivering to the people of machakos and leave the empty debes to make noise.

“Peter Ndeti was a great leader and as Mavoko residents we have lost an important person. We will remember him for the great work he did of stabilizing our council,” said Mutinda a mavoko resident.

We in kenya moja wish the Ndetis all the best in this hard period and pray that they find solace in the hope of resurection.RIPNdeti

POLICE SHOOT AND KILL A UNIVERSITY STUDENT IN THIKA

It was just recently when police in Thika shot live bullets at demonstrators who were contesting the closure of their market. Here they killed one and injured many.

In less than two months later, they are at it again this time with Mount Kenya University students. In what began as a peaceful demonstration by the students after one of them was killed in the neighborhood of the university by robbers on Thursday night, the students started a peaceful demonstration (which is allowed by the constitution). The demonstration went on peacefully until the police who arrived moments later began rioting. In what is natural, comrades who are always peace loving had to calm down the police who brutally fought back and used live bullets at comrades resultiing in the unfortunate death of one MKU thika student.

An injured student

This leads us to the debate of when police should use live bullets at demonstrators. We sought to get this clear from a security analyst and they were clear that police should not use live bullets on citizens who are picketing. The CS interior mr Nkaiserry and the acting IG Simba arati must respond to this and ensure no more life is lost.

For know we hope the government acts and restores peace in Thika.
